As time moves on, so do the beings that are trapped within the sands of time. They know better then to hold onto what they cannot and they know better then to believe what is a lie. For, how could believe be spelled without "lie"? Even in the surroundings of friends, there is a haunting feeling as you struggle with saying good-bye to that dear friend as they turn the other cheek, beginning to walk away. It has been so long since the world had seemed to come to an end and you're finding it hard to believe how fragial life is and the world that seemed to hold that life. You sigh as you watch that dear friend depart, perhaps to never see them again. You bite your lip, not wishing to cry and a sudden scream pierces the air with such suddenness, you are forced to jump and let out a small yelp. Your friend. You rush forward and you see a sight that you had only had nightmares about. Life, you now see, is a tender as it gets. For one moment, someone is there and the next they are not. In this lost world, you just stare in shock and finally drop to your knees next to your friend that seemed to have been attacked by some sort of beast. The marks across their skin are glowing abnormally and you fear touching them and your voice shakes as you breathe. A silent tear trickles down your cheek as you come to the realization that life can be gone so quickly, just like the world.
Cold drifts over you and you are not sure if it is just the loss catching up with you or it is the actual air, but you don't care. That is, until you hear something behind you. You gasp and turn to face a creature that seems to be as fierce as the beast that killed your friend and it speaks. "Be steady, child. Harm does not come from me."

You turn again to face your friend, still sobbing softly. Suddenly, you reach out and wrap your arms around the animal, holding it close and never wishing to let go for you know that life is so tender and you want to stay with this animal forever so you know you'll be safe. The wolf clears his throat and steps back before saying, "Now, now. No need to cry. It will be alright. Come, we will burry your friend with the other dreadful losses."
Suddenly, cackles come from every direction and snarls lash out. You stop, frozen with fear and the wolf lets out his own barking snarl. "Run!" You turn to run and you are met with a seering pain to your back, then neck. You hit the ground, snarls all around you and you are unaware that you're screaming. And just like that, you leave the world with the wolf's ringing voice in your ear. And just like that, life becomes so fragile.
